Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 2024

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of window and door installation services by Hiteqa to any customer who places an order through our website or otherwise engages our services. By instructing Hiteqa to carry out work, or by using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and, where applicable, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) together with the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

Services are provided by Hiteqa, registered office at 22D Gloucester Road, Bristol, BS2 3UU, United Kingdom.

Any queries, complaints, or requests relating to these Terms or to our services should be directed to the email address above.

2. Placing and Confirming an Order

Orders may be placed via our website enquiry form, by telephone, or by email. An order is not binding on Hiteqa until we have issued a written confirmation, which will set out the scope of work, an estimated schedule, and the agreed price. We reserve the right to decline any order, for example where a site survey reveals that the requested installation is not feasible.

Prior to confirmation, we may carry out a site visit or request photographs and measurements to prepare an accurate quotation. The final quotation supersedes any preliminary estimate given online or by phone.

3. Prices, Payment and What Is Included

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, unless stated otherwise, include VAT at the applicable rate. Quotations typically include supply of the windows or doors specified, removal and disposal of existing units, standard installation labour, and sealing/finishing works described in the confirmation document.

The following are usually excluded unless expressly stated: structural alterations, plastering or decorating beyond minor making good, disposal of hazardous materials, and any works arising from unforeseen conditions discovered once installation begins.

Payment terms will be specified in the order confirmation. Typically, a deposit is required to secure a booking, with the balance due on completion. We accept bank transfer and other payment methods as agreed at the time of order. Late payment may incur reasonable administrative charges as permitted by law.

4. Cancellation and Complaints

4.1 Cancellation Rights

If you are a consumer contracting with us at a distance (e.g. online or by phone) or off-premises, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of placing your order, without giving any reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel, notify us in writing at [email protected] before the 14-day period expires.

If you request that work begin before the 14-day period ends, you may be liable to pay for services already provided and materials already ordered specifically for your installation up to the point of cancellation.

4.2 Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us at [email protected] with details of the issue and, where possible, photographs. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time, and will arrange remedial work where a defect is attributable to our installation.

5. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law.

Subject to the above, Hiteqa's total liability arising out of or in connection with any order shall not exceed the total price paid for the relevant work. We shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or losses arising from delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as adverse weather, supplier delays, or site access restrictions.

Manufacturer warranties on windows, doors and associated hardware apply as provided by the relevant manufacturer and are passed on to you separately from these Terms.

6. Cookies and Privacy

Our website sets a single cookie, named consent_mode, which stores your cookie consent choice for a period of one year. This site does not use analytics cookies, does not use Google Analytics, and does not set any session or CSRF cookies. Advertising measurement is only activated after you have given consent, and only operates on the order confirmation page.

Any personal data you provide when placing an order is processed in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order and responding to your enquiries. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data by contacting [email protected]. If you believe your data protection rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The version published on our website at the time of your order will apply to that order.
